give it a rest

i'm growing increasingly tired of defending the Mac computer. anyone who owns a windows-based PC wants to know what's so special about the Mac. now that there are TWO viruses trojans out there that propegate on the Mac everyone's jumping down my throat saying, "see! they aren't virus-free! ha! you were wrong!"

here's the deal, people. if you want to spend the money on a windows-based machine because it's the only operating system you've ever worked on, that's your deal. if you want to buy a windows-based computer because it's what the majority of the rest of the population has, go for it. if you want to deal with spyware and email viruses and every other piece of toxic baggage that comes along with windows, more power to you. i won't stand in your way. i'm not going to attempt to expand your knowledge base anymore.

when you're sick and tired of having to install new virus definitions and you can no longer stand defragging your slow-as-molasses dell or gateway and are ready to consider a different machine, then come and talk to me and i'll show you the benefits of having a Mac.

until then, why don't you head on over to microsoft's new sweepstakes. they're giving away iPods and Mac laptops. maybe you'll be a lucky winner. (kind of like heading over to the saturn dealership and entering their contest to win a mercedes, isn't it?)
