takin' it to the man

i was apparently a good girl this year, as you can see by what else i received for Christmas. i've been bringing my little white atomic iPod with me to work this hoping i'd get a chance to listen to it.

you see, my workplace is split into two very different areas. one: the creative side, which is where i spent 5 of my 6 years of employment. it's very common to see people wearing headphones and listening to music while they're working. it's what creative people do. and two: the stiff side, where the employees know more about adding numbers than they know about pop culture. (some exceptions apply) in fact, the building is split into 2 suites on 2 levels. the main floor has the creative suite and the executive suite. my weekday residence for 37.5 hours a week is now spent in the executive suite.

one of the guys in my area was listening to headphones during the day a couple months ago and someone complained to the executive of our department about it. (i told you. stiffs.) that put the kaibosh on headphones. so i've been slipping one earphone in at work while the other ear can be on patrol. so far it's worked.

i left work at noon today because i feel like crap. i think i've got a bit of a bug and i'm not one to get the rest of the department sick so i came home. i did, however, burn some files to CD that i've been working on in the office on my new computer. (did you know i got a new computer?) so i'm giggling because i'm working on actual work files AND i'm listening to music while i do it. i'm the ultimate rebel.
